IMechE Design Challenge

This IMechE design project is organised by Institution of Mechanical Engineers, which is an annual competition for year 1 and 2 undergraduate students. This year’s project was to design a repeatable vehicle that moves along a tabletop from a spot to another with different stages to it. Also, this vehicle must fit and hold materials within a specification of 120mm in length, 40mm in width and 25mm in height.

My vehicle follows the requirements and it works with big and small reel in order to reel a tape around with the help of a motor to make it move towards the wall and with the help of a DPDT button the reverse would happen where the tape would be reeled by the same amount the other way making the vehicle go back to its initial spot. Then with the help of a colour sensor and Arduino UNO, the vehicle would keep moving forward until the new yellow point is detected, then it would stop and the required spot.
